Yes, some have had issues with scuffing the gel coat by using the cover on road trips. I believe the main problem is a cover that doesnt fit properly or that is not tightened down VERY-VERY tight. If the cover isnt tight, it will flap in the wind and can cause some scuffing of the gel coat – usually around the top cap area. One other thing that Ive heard of people doing is buying a large roll of shrink wrap (similar to what is used to wrap pallets of freight) and wrapping around the boat 4-5 times to prevent the scuffing. You would just need to wrap around the top cap area and maybe around the motor cowling. However, lots of folks just travel without the cover and clean the boat real good when they arrive at their destination. Its a preference. Good luck.
