BCB ADMIN HELP WATER IN TRANSOM ON A 2010 PIV

battery charger went bad, this morning i removed the charger that was mounted on the transom. water is coming from all four screw holes. the question i have is 1. how thick is the transom on a 2010 PIV? the top holes bottom out at 1 1/2 inches and the bottom holes bottom out at 1 1/4 inches. 2.should i remove the engine and jack plate to see if holes where drill through the transom? i am not the original owner so i dont know if charger was factory installed or at a dealership.Last edited by rbcat on May 31st, 2014, 3:43 pm, edited 1 time in total.

i can blow compressed air in top holes and water comes out the bottom holes. has transom separated internally?

The transom is an all fiberglass product though the core is capable of leaking if they get water from outside. It sounds like the jackplate may not be sealed and depending on how the usage was and history of ownership your in a grey area. There are many areas that the hull can trap water and many reasons as to how it got there It is possible that the water has permeated more than the transom. Contact either a BCB dealership and start working with Service next week. We assume everything is transferred.
