BCB Amber Bow Roller

Purchased a new bow roller from BCB and was surprised to get the amber type roller. It does have the softer black rubber on each end. I know in the past it was recommended to stay away from the amber rollers due to them being harder and possibly causing damage. Has the thinking changed or is this a different material?Thanks.

Old amber too tuff and hammered some keels, black one was too soft and barely lasted 2 years, new one is indestructable but doesnt hurt the nose at all. Very nice work on BCBs part.C.O.D. Jr. III

The new roller works great. Wont mess up the bow as the older one did.

Looking forward to not having to clean the black off my white gel coat. And yes I got about 2 yrs out of the last one also.
