I purchased a new Aurora cover from the dealer when I bought my boat back in March and was aware the dealer did not complete the cover’s option form required as I requested another trolling motor other than the Fortrex that came with the boat. It took 2 months to resolve the trolling motor issue but in the end, I picked up a new Ultrex that BCB supplied to the dealer back when they were out of stock from MK. I expected the dealer would complete the cover option form since the trolling motor issue was resolved and send it to BCB. Maybe this was done, maybe it wasn’t. The owner in typical fashion, did not respond to my email request or return my phone calls when I was inquiring about when I could expect the cover to arrive in late July. ( I had paid additional shipping costs with the boat purchase to drop ship to me since the dealer was a 300 mile round trip)
I then contacted the salesman and asked him to check on it 3 days later after being blown off by the dealer. Two weeks later he sends me a text asking if I changed anything else on the boat besides adding the Ultrex and I said no. I asked him how long, he replied 3-4 weeks to make the cover. OK, well at least it’s moving forward I think.. Four days later he sends me a text and says the cover shipped and on its way to my house. Great, they must have found a way to send one earlier I thought! A week or so later the box shows up on my porch looking like the brown truck had it tied to the bumper the whole way and I took pictures of the box in case it was damaged from the ride and then headed to the garage to put it on the boat. It doesn’t fit! Not just a little, it doesn’t fit in width or length. I text the salesman with 10 pictures of the cover and the areas where it’s short. It doesn’t cover the rub rail on the drivers side and wont go over the transom on that side either.
A week later he calls and says that Aurora is reviewing the pictures and the company President personally reviews each cover complaint. OK, sounds good, it’s now August 23rd.
No news until he calls me on 9/5, Aurora says the trolling motor has to be turned prop inside for the cover to fit correctly and they want a picture of the windshield on my boat because they think that’s the issue. I flip the TM, unbox the cover and retry the fit. Nope, still not going on, still too short and too narrow! I send 10 more pictures of the same fit and then remove the windshield to see if it goes on then, still doesn’t fit with no windshield and send pictures of that too.
I last talked to him on 9/8 and he said BCB and Aurora are still reviewing the case. I think he’s done all he can so now I’m asking for BCB’s help to get this resolved. I don’t know how much deliberation is needed on a cover that won’t go on the boat! Winter’s coming and I’d like the cover I paid $850 for that actually covers the boat the way is supposed to..
Contact the Parts Department Manager and have them assist you. We apologize for any cover issues with Aurora. They have been exemplary in their performance regarding covers in 2017 model year and were awarded the most improved vendor award for that year.
The staff at Aurora will manage your issue. They are being specific for a reason, and we know they may be moving slow. They see graphs on BBT mounts, Ultrex changes, Cafe’ and standard windscreens, dual and single consoles and more. These all have been changed in some cases from factory original orders.
On Aurora, they have a lot of trolling motor changes since Ultrex came out and it’s a burden as they can’t charge enough and seem reasonable for their time and effort. It would be exponential to consumers and they are trying to manage a lot right now.
I had a issue with my cover on my 18 Caracal, Aurora built a new one and did a great job. They will take care of you.

Just to add. I too had problems with my aurora cover and aurora took care of it promptly and did a great job.
Once they get it right, you’ll love the cover. I have the Sunbrella cover fo my 17 Eyra and had to get a new one after I switched to an Ultrex. It fits perfectly, really nice covers and this is my second one. Good luck.
