I have the BCB NexSysLink gauges on my new Puma FTD. I finally had a chance to start breaking in the boat and notice all the gauges work except the speedometer. The needle doesn’t move at all. Is there something I have to link this to make it work? Any feedback would be most appreciated. Thanks.

You have to turn on the NMEA output on the GPS units.

I have the same problem with my puma ftd. I just thought it wasnt hooked up since it came thru the depthfinder. Where is this NMEA on the GPS unit?

On the humminbird, u need to go to memu and find settings. It should be there I think.Ron

Could someone suggest a trouble shooting tip to help me? My Beede nexSysLink speedometer works about 25% of the time, just a nuisance, not an issue, how can I trace down the probable connection problem? (Humminbird set to NEMA) Thank you.

Make sure your Humminbird is on are gauge wont work. At least thats the way it is on my cougar FTD.

If the GPS is working then the speedo should work. It may be a wire, or it may be a feed issue from one of the other components. Usually the tachometer drives the gauges from the engine processor. The GPS just provides the data to the processor.

Okay. I have my Lowrance unit set on send and receiver NMEA waypoints, and the smartcraft is set on GPS in the speedo mode. I still don’t have speedo. I know when I turn the key, the speedo needle goes to max, like all the gauges, then goes to min. When I take off, all the gauges work, except the speedo, What else should I look at to get my speedo working?
