Joe, The cables are usually faulty if you put that much pressure on the helm. If not, then replacing the helm only is a fairly simple job and can easily be replaced. The part should be in stock, though they will try to sell the entire steering as BCB protocol is such. They feel if the cables or helm is bad, usually the opposing part accompanying it is as well.
