I called Scott in service today to ask him about my center seat install (specifically, the fold down backrest) and from our conversation today, I was under the impression that I should mount the base of the hinges to the backrest of the boat with the supplied rivets. Two problems with this: One, the hinges will not work that way and seem to only work correctly if you mount them to the cap of the ice well. Secondly, the rivets that are provided are to small and actually slide through the holes in the bracket. Either I have totally misunderstood what I was told (which is not hard to do to me. LOL) or something is not right either with the hinge bracket or the rivets. I have pictures below hopefully to show what I am talking about. If anyone can post a picture of a new style center seat with the hinged backrest showing how it is mounted I would greatly appreciate it. I really need to get this figured out because I am starting this project tomorrow. I want to say Scott was great to talk too but I was at work when I called him and could not see my seats till later in the day. Please forgive me and my questions, I just want to make sure I do this right. This picture shows the seat fully extended and means I would have to mount it to the top of the ice well to have it work properly (which me be correct?). According to my talk with Scott I am under the impression it should be mounted vertically against the backrest. Again I could have misunderstood. Here is the seat fully closed. Here is the rivet which slips right through the holes and according to my conversation rivets are what I should use to mount the seat God Bless, Stephen
