There is a nice BCB Summit Jacket for sale on ebay.
I went on ebay to look at the jacket. I was going to bid until I saw his shipping price. He says its $14 to ship because the Post Office isnt cheap and hes not trying to make money off of it. Baloney!! I work for the USPS, depending on where he ships to the cost for postage should be between $5 and $10. Plus the box is free!
I always say, in god and the USPS we trust… Used to run large mail operations with multimillion dollar postal accounts. Folks like to beat up the Postal Service but if they had any idea of the real service they provide and at an extremely good price they would shut up. UPS is good too but they have an competitive edge because their hands arent tied by politicians in DC. You guys do a great job Frank, keep it up. Any business owners on here (and I know there are several) that does a lot of mailings are doing yourself a great disservice if you dont contact your local USPS account rep and take advantage of the array of discounts available. Join your local PCC too. OK, will end my sermon/rant now. Sorry. Retired but miss the mail game from time to time and yes Im a long time fan of the USPS. Below is what Frank really said about my shipping costs on ebay and my reply to Frank. I am sure his family and the BCB family are very proud of Frank for conducting himself in such a manner. Question & Answer, Answered On, ||, || Q: , As someone who runs a Bass Cat boat I was interested in your jacket. As someone who works for the USPS I am not. Saying that shipping is not cheap and you are not trying to make money of the shipping is an outright lie. Depending on the zone you ship to the package will cost between $5 and $10 to ship, and you get the box for free. You can keep your jacket!, Apr-01-11, || A: , I just shipped a calcutta 200 from KY to NC in a prepaid box and it cost me $10 with USPS. But thanks for your interest. And thanks for such kind words., ||, ||
NOW I get it. Red – When I first saw your post I thought you were a fellow family member letting other members know about something on eBay that they might be interested in because you were not. Many of us on here often let BCB friends know about bargains we come across. Last year I let my friends on here know about the Onyx life jacket promotion going on and several took advantage. Weve helped each other find props too.But now we learn it is your auction you were promoting. I dont take issue with you using the board to sell something but you certainly could have been have been a little more honest and said “you/I” have a jacket for sale over on eBay for sale instead of just saying “There” is a jacket up for bid. Then you make comments about the Postal Service high costs for shipping when some may know better. That isnt going to help with credibility. You should also understand that some of us (customers and USPS staff) are going to take issue with the comment and call you on it like Frank did. I dont know Frank but Ill back anyone I know to be speaking the truth. I think all anyone on the forum wants is for members to be upfront and honest with each other. I for one dont think that is to much to ask. I suggest (just a suggestion) you change your post to say “you” have a jacket for sale, change the Post Office comment on eBay, and hope for competitive bidding. More then one member on here is probably going to want it. With a different approach I think you will do better with your auction IMHO.Brian
I canceled the auction. Will take the coat and give to the Salvation Army. I do not think they will complain so much. I wanted some current BCB owner to get use of a like new coat. But its not worth the hassel. Amazing.
do you still have the jacket for sale? What color is it and what size

Geez folks, cant we give each other a break? The man was simply letting folks know where a BCB jacket was for sale. RedCatCougar – You may want to post your jacket on the Props page (http://basscatowners.yuku.com/forums/65/Props) w/ a pic. It is free to post and you dont have to pay anyone a commission when you sell. Ive had good luck selling items on BassBoatCentral too. It is best to include shipping in the asking price. You may be able to fit the jacket in one of the USPS “if it fits it ships” $10 boxes. Good luck.Last edited by rlb8s on April 2nd, 2011, 1:55 am, edited 1 time in total.
I see no deception in RedCatCougar original post, you should put it back on ebay. ( I have been working in direct mail for almost 35 years now, I would use UPS)
