Question – Is TT O2 system high pressure oxygen cylinder still stored and secured in the boat battery compartment right next to the fuel oil reservoir and the battery? Just been wondering if that battery box might be or really is a fire/explosion boat hazard? I Googled – “fishing oxygen cylinder safety on boats” which I found very interesting/informative. Maybe a BCB dealer would shed some expert company advice about this boat safety matter.
love the persistence on the live well o2 questions….
We are going to land on this one and shed a little light on it. Similar oxygen systems were written about in Boats decades ago in Bassmaster magazine. They are nothing new and conservation departments, minnow haulers and more have used oxygen to keep Fish alive a long time. This system is not new and has been in operation in similar form for years. There is apparently some rub that BCB is not engaging you on the Tiger Tank set up and that’s fine. If you are ‘vested’ in another system, or have an interest, then that’s fine. Here are previous posts going back 7 years ago on this topic. viewtopic.php?f=63&t=17817&p=132838#p132838viewtopic.php?f=63&t=17817&p=132838#p132838For now we are closing this one down once the topic has been given an opportunity to have been discussed. We are done with it and while the Tiger Tanks were a Great idea and a good product, they sell at a very low pace. The intent of us getting involved with the Tiger Tank goes beyond Boats and Fish, timing just won’t allow us to enter into that marketing arena now. We had a staffer assigned to complete and execute that strategy and it just never got completed. The Tiger Tank will probably slide to an untimely death as a listed option and become a one off special request item. Just like Pivot Bows, PoP Axles and more. BCB

I have yet to have or hear of a pressurized oxygen tank exploding. Current aircraft has them right below the flight deck along with lots of other electronics and even batteries nearby. Obviously aircraft go through extreme temperature variations each and every flight so I highly doubt theres a safety issue with having a pressurized oxygen tank in a boat. I highly doubt your concern is sincerely over safety also, just another jab at the system which you appear to be obsessed with.
Is it persist ants or just plain out trolling. This guy very articulate and you would think that he would have some value to add to the forum instead of trolling. Is he at least a BCB owner…..????AGG 271….what model BCB do you own? What motor do you run?? How is it setup???Inquiring minds would like to know!
He is just an a_ _hole trolling and I for one would like to see him banned from being able to post on this forum. He has been put up with for a long time and has offered no worthy input or value to anyone. Go crawl in a hole and disappear.

Can you imagine not having anything else better to do than obsess over a livewell oxygen system.
Yikes, why all the negative attitude and hostility here?Maybe an electric Oxygenator like all the other bass boats sell would work? I liked the TT O2 rig, I have the same rig TP&WD promotes which is the same as the TT O2 rig. The only problem I have had with it the oxygen dose limitation with the regulator. It is easy to overcrowd the livewell and then is it as deadly as an aerator in the summer. The negativity toward the TT O2 rig is palpable, low and clear rejection on the BCB forum… the poor reception is crystal clear which from fishermen. The reception was identical for TPWD with their O2 system sales failure too. Those livewell air vents may sell better @ $50/pair.The whole point of the O2/livewell summer tournament exercise is keep all the bass alive all day and to win the prize at the end of the day. It has nothing to do with fishery conservation and the tournament image of conservation for what thats worth. It has everything to keeping fish alive and winning the prize in the summer, thats all.I use my TPWD O2 system to keep bait fish alive. Im a river fisherman and currently I fish out of a 1999 16″ tin Jon-boat. My livewell is an old ($20) 48 quart igloo ice chest Ive used for years and it doesnt leak and still works like a champ. I do add salt to my livewell water sometimes when I think about it and I catch my bait with a cast net. Im a meat hunter. Now youall know more about me.Cut the high price and the O2 rigs might sell, but for now, they simply cost way, way too much for the average bass fisherman.
We’ve not seen livewell vents increase the oxygen count. The oxygenators do slightly increase the PPM counts. Just not significant enough, it’s less added dissolved oxygen content than a simple air stone and pump similar to an aquarium. The Tiger Tank direct injection system does work though as you point out it’s not well accepted in price tag, and component costs won’t allow the price to come down. Air tank, $150 tank brackets, stone, SS fittings and an expensive regulator… the hose is cheap.
agg271 – you should moonlight as a comedian. No one is hostile about your topic. I (only going to speak for myself but I think many will agree) am hostile and fed up by your constant reviewing of this topic. BCB has created a product to try and help improve fish care…that is all. They are not trying to get rich off of this product. BUT they are in business to make money so if they charge a slight up charge over the cost of the materials and labor then that is understandable. If they didnt do this on all products then they would soon be out of business which may be what you want. You dont own a Basscat and it appears that you prefer a style of fishing that indicates you wont be buying a new boat (of any kind) any time soon. It also appears that you have a hidden agenda with this product or with BCB. I would ask you to be honest with everyone and state that true agenda but at this point I dont even care and I think most on this forum feel the same way. If you are just trying to get a reaction out of someone you have succeeded with me partly because I am just grumpy and partly because you are providing no value. At this point I ask BCB again to ban you from the forum. Good luck with your fish care and please dont waste any more time or space on this forum.
