Topic: BCB, What Prop is Supposed to be on My 06 Classic?

BCB or anyone else who knows this:Recently bought a used 2006 Pantera Classic. Has a 2006 200 HP Merc Optimax model 1B348485. It came with a Trophy Plus 4 blade SS 25 pitch prop on it. It will rev up too many RPMs so I think this is not the prop that came on it from factory and/or should be on it. I know logical thing is find a 26 or 27 pitch 4 blade and try till I find just the right one, but wanted to save some of the trial & error if I could. Any help? That prop should be just fine on that boat, I have a 2003 classic with the same motor and prop, it wont be the fastest prop you could use, but it is a good all round prop. I have done 72.4 gps and never hit the rev limiter.

My experience with a 26 trophy was slow out of the hole, 72 on top end, loses bite easily in sharp turns, doesnt want to push up on the trailer well.

Ran a 26 fury on mine, just a little above flush on jack plate. Awesome hole shot, wonderful top end and great to handle!

I also have a 06 classic but i have the 3.0 liter 200. I run 27 tempest and at 2200 ft elevation it is almost not enough cause i run right at the rev limiter. fastest i have seen is full load all tackle and full of fuel, is 75.7. Hope this helps

26 Fury….though that is not the prop that it would have come on it out of the factory. A 27 Tempest will work too!

Hey, thanks for the responses. Seems like 26 Fury is the consensus. Does anyone know the inch size so I can start browsing some sites for prices? I think it is probabaly 14″, but not sure? Last dumb question, this Fury 26 is a 4 blade prop right?
