BCB, What tires should I buy?

I have the Cooper Cobra GT tires that were put on at the factory on my 2009 CougarFTD trailer. The boat/trailer were built in 2008, I think my boat was the CougarFTD that was displayed at the Dealers meeting that year. So those tires are now almost 7 years old. They look brand new and have almost no tread wear. I figure I should probably replace them. Any recommendations from BCB?

Mastercraft and they are good tires.

I recently replaced my tires and I went with Mastercraft. They are Mastercraft “Avengers” with the raised white lettering. Very reasonably priced too.Everyone should believe in something. I believe Ill just go fishing!

I purchased a set of mastercraft avengers about 2 years before selling my old Classic and they were exceptional on that rig. My new one has mastercraft avengers on them and I have had no issue with these either. You have had cooper cobras for 7 years with no issue and the Mastercraft avengers are supposedly the same tire. Give the avengers a shot and you should be satisfied. I feel that 6 years is as long as anyone should ever go with a tire no matter how good they look. I made 6 years on both of my first sets on the old classic and after that they started leaking air through tiny cracks in the tread that I couldnt even see. Its probably best to go no more than 5 years to be honest. The Mastercraft Avengers are a good looking tire too and they are reasonably priced.Chris CoupelPaulina, La.Chris CoupelPaulina, La.

You now know our opinion. Cooper is a good company and the Cobras are the exact same construction as the Avengers.

I put another set of Cooper Cobra GTs on my 02 Pantera Classic last year, had a previous set on their 5 yrs. and had a blow out but I travel on some pretty rough roads at times and know have hit some holes pretty hard which very likely weakened the tire, also showed very little wear on them.

I found a Tire store nearby who sells the Mastercraft Avengers. I plan to check them out soon. Thanks everyone.

I have a 2008 Pantera Classic with Cooper Cobras. They still looked good and had been garage kept with little travel. I had made up my mind to replace them in January 2015. One last trip one them in December and naturally I had a blow out. So no matter how good they look they will dry rot on you in about 5 1/2 years. I put new Cobras back on. Dont wait any longer.2Sport
