Finally got the new bucket seats and step box for my old 02 Jag. For those that have made the swap, help me with some quick details please. Rivets for the step box are a no brainer, but what about the rest? Machine screws and inserts are for the base and screws for the seat backs? What size hole for the inserts? Emailed Allan about this over the weekend but haven’t had any response yet. Need to get these installed before the weekend. All the old links I can find from the old board about putting these in seem to be useless.

OK, so I have a little follow-up on this. Richard called me this morning and pointed out that I only need the sheet metal screws and can disregard the machine screws and inserts since I don’t have a removable seat pan. One screw through each hinge and a screw in each back corner. Knew it had to be uncomplicated but the extra hardware made me second guess things. Project will be done tonight after work.

It is cool to see that old thread resurface every now and again. For the OP, make sure you heed the comment about preventing water intrusion into the under-seat storage. Here it is –

“Best method to prevent water from leaking into the under seat storage after the bucket upgrade: Get a food tray to keep the water from leaking into the under seat storage. Cut it in half length wise and install a half upside down on the aft portion of the storage. Works like a charm and still gives you access to the storage.”

Post some pics when you complete the swap.
