I was attempting to load my boat onto the trailer this past weekend with high winds/big rollers coming at my back. Pretty stressful for me having only had my first boat (06 Pantera) for two months. Unfortunately my partner had the trailer in a little too deep and when I came up on the trailer I hit the keel roller off center with the nose of the boat instead of the keel. It was a pretty hard hit. After backing out and getting my partner to pull the trailer out a bit I was able to get the boat loaded and out of the water without too much more trouble. But when I was checking to see if Id done any damage by the “hit” I saw that the bracket/yoke that holds the keel roller was no longer square to the trailer axis. One side of the “yoke” was about an inch further forward than the other one causing the roller to be at an angle. Luckily the boat looked fine as I hit square on the rub rail on the nose.It didnt seem to affect my loading of the boat when the trailer was moved to the right position, but it IS something I want to get fixed. The roller is a bit old/beat up also so it would be a good time to replace it. Does anyone have any experience with getting this type of damage repaired? Is it simply a matter of bending the bracket back to being square to the axis of the trailer? Is this something that can be done by most trailer shops? Thanks, GregLast edited by Gregd72 on March 22nd, 2011, 3:11 pm, edited 1 time in total.
