?? best gel coat sealant

Winter is coming , and I usually detail the boat before the tournament season starts. What do you guys think is the best sealant out there?? There are several, so just wanted some opinions.Thanks

Ive used Protec sealant for over 10 years. Nothing better for me to seal and polish gelcoat. Super easy to apply and wipe off.Mike Whitten

Ron,I agree that BTS is a good product for wipedown, but it does not do the same thing on fiberglass that Protec Sealant does. BTS is not a sealant or a wax, and does not bond to the gelcoat the way ProTec does. I use both products, and like them both, but BTS will not PROTEC and shine a glass hull like the sealant does.I will also say this–BTS is the BEST stuff Ive ever found for combating mildew on vinyl seats. I had a horrirble issue with mildew on pontoon boat seats. NO more. Spray them down with BTS, and that problem is over.Mike Whitten

I have used both products, and I really do like the BTS for wiping down the boat. I think the Protec is superior to the BTS for protecting the boat. I am not certain, however, that Protec is any better than a quality paste wax like Meguires.Corky

BTS uses wording that makes it sound like a sealant, but I guess its not truly a sealant. Not saying its not good, just slightly misleading. Think I am going to try ProTec . I always use BBS as a wipedown, and its worked great for years, but its a cleaner/UV protection, much like BTS seems to be.Thanks guys

fwiw……………bbs is nothing more than a duster as a lot of the spray detailers are. bbs leaves a film and has to be wiped several times to remove the film. bts doesnt leave as much of a film and is easier to use in my opinion. none of the sprays are as good as liquid wax, paste wax, or sealant of some type. protec is nice cause it goes on easy and is easy to remove.
