Best Prop choice

Buying a used 2004 Pantera Classic running a 200hp Merc Optimax. Seller is giving me a choice of a 26 Trophy 4 blade or a 25″ Tempest 3 blade. My preference is Hole shot more important then top speed . What is my best choice??

Get whichever one is in better shape then sell it and upgrade to a 25P fury. But between those two props i would probably opt for the 26 Trophy, If the tempest was a 26 then I would of went with it, the trophy should give you all around excellent performance. Its really up to you though…

The 25p Tempest did a good job on those rigs at the time.

I just bought an 08 P II it has the 26 4 blade trophy. It did very well on the test drive, but got into the rev limiter at 72 mph with 2 people and no gear. I havent been back out since with it loaded. The holeshot was good and i think will be fine with it loaded. If Im gonna get in a race im gonna have to step it up a little tho.

On an Optimax we prefer a 25 or 26 Trophy, depending on what your rig will turn. Some like a 24 or 25 Fury also. The Tempest is not usually a preferred propeller on the Opti with this hull. BCB
