Best prop for Mercury 250R

I’m getting ready to report my 2016 Cougar FTD with a new Mercury 250R. The motor will have the 1.75 race gear case and my boat fully loaded is around 2300lbs. What’s the best prop and pitch for maximizing top end speed?

Why a 250R and not a ProXS? The only difference is the solid mounts and Sportmaster gear case, neither of which are needed with a Cougar as it won’t exceed the Torquemaster speed limit with 250hp and holeshot will be better with the latter.

We do not suggest the 250R on Bass Cat models as it only comes with the Sportmaster case. That case only adds performance after lower 90 MPH.

If the dealer will switch cases to the TorqueMaster then it will work great. Mercury Racing does not presently do this.
