Specs:2012 puma ftd2011 225 pro xs4 31 series batteries 8 blade8″ Atlas Hydraulicwith a 25 fury im turning about 5500 with jackplate all the way down and hitting 65 tournament load (light tournament load with light partner 68), 69-70 unloaded by myself (light fuel)with a 26 trophy plus, 5650, jackplate raised about an inch, 64 tournament load, havent checked unloaded and by myselfwith a 26 fury im turning 5600, jackplate all the way down, 69-70 by myself with light loadi have a 25 trophy plus but i dont see much point in trying it if the 26 is getting me very little performance. possibly looking into a tempest or bravo but need some input. this motor should be hitting 5900-6000 rpms but its not
You should be able to sling a 25p Fury close to 6k rpms with correct plate settings. Im on a fixed jackplate and turn that year round, no poles, three batteries, but loaded with gas, livewells, and gear out the wazoo.I would have tps, cable adjustment, etc, checked, imho. You dont wanna hear my speeds ! Last edited by dbasketman on October 24th, 2013, 1:55 pm, edited 1 time in total.
CRWood, You sound as if the propeller is slipping and there is no logical reason the 26 turned more than the 25 Fury. We once rigged these with 27 Trophy propellers, though the 250 we only used a 26 on. The torque range was different was the reason. Your rig defies our logic and we think its too high on the setting of engine height.Last edited by Bass Cat Boats on October 24th, 2013, 2:07 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Yeah I was pretty confused when the 26 fury was able to turn higher rpms than the 25 fury. the few times ive raised the jackplate i have lost speed even while compensating by tilting the motor down. best performance with the furys is with the jackplate down all the way and motor trimmed just below max. boat performed the same with my old detwiler hydraulic. i would run the detwiler about 1″ up. im going to go measure how far my prop shaft is below pad and then ill update. also going to check the throttle cable for possible adjustment

my motor is mounted using the 3rd hole so im already assuming that my motor is too high even with the jackplate all the way down. tried to best to get under there without having access to a straight edge but best i can determine, im sitting at 2″ below pad which I know is two high. im taking it in to the dealership tomorrow to have him lower the motor
bolt on hot foot was adjusted too far out, so for the last two years ive been running my boat 600 rpms below max LOL! should be able to see some speed now
Look at the bright side, it was an easy fix. Now you gotta learn how to drive your new rig !
73.5 @ 5700 with 25 fury74.7 @ 5750 with 26 fury73.7 @ 5850 with 26 trophy plusgive or take 25 or 50 rpms on each. was hard to watch rpms and keep head ducked behind windshield to avoid the onslaught of extremely over sized mosquitoes. my buddy is going to give me his 27 fury to try out as well. are there any other props i need to look into? the trophy plus had an extremely difficult time loading the boat onto the trailer. in fact i had to get out and winch it up about 8″ because it wouldnt load it. great hole shots with the furys and they loaded the boat no problem. these numbers were me by myself and very little fuel. going back out this afternoon with my buddy to see what it does loaded
