Got to spend a good part of the day with ivan out on the lake while we broke in his new puma ftd. I have a 08 puma advantage witch i have absolutely been in love with since i bought it 4 years ago but now i think i found a new love. Now i just gotta sell everything i own and work around the clock until i can afford the new one. You could not ask for a nicer guy. I did get to meet ivan a few years ago when i attended my first o/i but it was just a short hello. Today i got to spend some time with ivan in my boat and then the rest of the day in his while we took her out on her maden voyage and boy i sure learned alot. He took the time to explain all about the boats everything from the build process to how to set ur boat up. I have loved basscat boats from the first time i rode in one and when you get guys like ivan that take the time to take ya out and educate you on the product it makes you feel good knowing we own the best boats money can buy. I would also like to thank eddy from lybacks marine for being the first basscat/yarcraft dealer here in minnesota because without him for one i wouldnt have got to spend the time with ivan and wouldnt have the great dealer support.when you have guys like myself that work 2 jobs to be able to enjoy fishing in my free time and spend my vacation days in my bass cat its nice to have guys like them that are willing to help ya out. Just wanted to show my appreciation for these guys and basscat for everything.
Agree, Ivan is a good dude. I just bought his 2015 Puma FTD, after I bought his 2011 a few years back . Both boats were immaculate and setup perfectly. And man, he can sure drive these boats. I asked him to show me what a Puma could do and he said I had better hold-on — talk about a rush!
Ivan Williams demoed and sold me my first Basscat, a Pantera II, way back in 1990. He is a HUGE asset to BassCat, and has been a friend, mentor and source of great information since that first day on Lake Norfork! He is as good as they come.

If you look up the word integrity it might have Ivans face next to it. You can tell he is passionate about Bass Cat, its not hard to recommend/sell something you believe in. By the way Mike you are a pretty good egg too. You were a big influence back in 2010/11 in my decision to purchase a BC boat. I very much appreciate your words of wisdom at that time. I will never forget the question I opened on the BassFishingHomePage forum, asking opinions on three different brands of boats that I was considering. WOW, did that open up a can of worms. As jpost mentioned when Ivan gives demo rides and tells you to hold on…..I would recommend you follow his advice….maybe with two hands!!!!I do hope Bass Cat appreciates the quality of individual they have in Ivan. I have posted this before, and I dont mind posting it again. Bill
Good to see Ivan again yesterday at the North Star Bass Cat OI. Thanks to Eddy Lyback as well for organizing a really fun event, even though it was an awfully tough bite!
Have to agree with the comments here. Ivan is a class act for sure. My wife and I drove up from the metro area to check out the kitty cats and yarcarfts. We went out with Jason in his 15 Eyra and had a blast. We hymmed and hahed a bit and walked over to Ivans Puma FTD and he said lets go for a ride. Running 75 in the heavy chop that a 25 mph wind can whip up on Mille Lacs was crazy, but Ivan knows how to drive a Bass Cat. Doing figure 8s at about 35 and not a drop of water in the boat. Then running back into the head wind at 75 again, I was on the carpeted step box and was comfortable. You get the boat up on top and it just walked across the waves no problem. I was absolutely shocked at how smooth that boat ran across that chop, my wife giggling the whole time. Her hair after the ride was awesome, and Ivans was looking pretty swept back too.I had a blast up there. Wish we could have stayed longer but we ran back home to get ready to see the Foo Fighters Saturday night in St. Paul. I was under the impression that my wife was going to not care for how fast the bass boats ran and how low they were to the water but she liked the feeling in the Bass Cat more than the Yarcraft, even out in the heavy chop. We grabbed a couple catalogs and started on the way home talking about a purchase next spring. Thinking Sabre FTD with a 175 XS or VRod. Ivan made a Bass Cat fangirl out of my wife. To that Ivan, I will never be able to thank you enough!!!!Thanks again,Tom
I have heard a lot of great things about Ivan from Sherm as well as others. I hope to meet him someday!Dan
Ivan is the best.
Yes I agree Ivan is awesome! Hes been with BassCat for 26 years and he knows the boats like the back of his hand. The Ride and Drive was a lot of fun and also want thank Eddy at Lybacks Marine(the only Minnesota BassCat dealer) it was a great weekend.
