Bildge full of water

I know it is me but I cant seem to fix the problem. I have a new cougar ftd and have had it out less than 10 times. Every time out my bildge fills with water and I dont know where it is coming from. I read the FAQ section and still cant figure it out. The plug is in, the livewell valve is on empty and I am fun fishing so i have not been using the wells. Pump in, and aeriators are off. Why are my livewells 1/4 full and bildge full of water? I watch when I stop and dont see much if any wash coming over. The wells are not filling enough to overflow. Got to be something I am doing wrong. I have had several boats with no issues but this is my first cat. Im gonna have to add “with 400 lbs of water” when I get a chance to post some numbers. Gonna get the hose out and start filling but thought I would ask first. Please help your slow KY hill jack brother out!! Still faster than my T boat.

Check for a possible loose fitting inside at the transom where the live wells pick up outside water. Just a thought.GeorgeGeorge

You have got to have a fitting broken or a hose leaking somewhere. Go on the transom and plug your livewell from the outside. If that stops it then it is in that system so start looking at all of the fittings and hoses.Johnny

Check the ball valves on the back of the livewells. If those are open, the aeration will spill into the bilge. They should be small red handle valves near the top inside the sump area, in front of the batteries.

Also those are flush valves to clear debris from the aeration system.

Make sure there is a gasket around the plug in the bottom of the boat. I was getting water in my Puma when new, and it was because the gasket on the plug was torn. Replaced the gasket and the boat leaked not a drop afterward.Corky

Corky is speaking of the O-Ring on the twist in drain plug we believe.

Couldnt stand it!! Got out of bed and went out to the building to check the valves and o ring. The valves were closed (perp to the line) and the gasket appears to be in good shape. It was slightly slid up the threads on one side and not flush to the back of the plug. Dont know if this was enough to take on that much water but could be. I will get it out as soon as I can, leave the rods in the truck until I figure it out. Thanks for all the help this forum is amazing. Going to bed gotta work in the morning.
