I installed the black roller on my 2004 Cougar FTD vs yellow roller. I am now getting black marks on the underside of boat bow where the boat is touching the roller when I am trailering. How are you folks getting rid of these marks? RWP
Those marks will rub off with some effort. You can use WD 40 or some other cleaner. They do not damage the gelcoat like the urethane rollers do. And you can clean those black marks off with that effort and a towel. BCB
Blue Youre getting the black marks from loading and unloading the boat. Not while trailering. Any number of things will remove those marks including all mentioned above. The yellow rollers are much harder and are more prone to do damage than the black ones.
Goo-B-Gone and other citrus based cleaners work too! Also, you may have a can of Acetone laying around the garage, and that will also remove the black scuffs. Apply a little wax on the affected area afterwards!
Hey Ron- Waxing the fire out of the roller area has worked well for me. Also Ive been putting the trailer in a hair deeper so mine hits almost at the boot. See you out there- WardC.O.D. Jr. III
thanks, Ward. I will try that next time and see if that helps. Seems as I am putting the boat on the trailer, the under side of boat is rubbing on the roller ends and leaving 2 black marks, 1 on each side of the kneel up towards the bow pt. Ron
