Its bad enough that my eyesight is just about gone in both eyes. I have “floaters” in both that are just about the size of a Bay Cat. Over the weekend, I lost the “eyes” on the front of my boat when my LCX-17M “flashed” twice and “popped” once and went dark. Trying to fish without depth, water temp and GPS waypoints is really tough… On a positive note, my wife and I did “see” Adrian Zeimet yesterday from the water, and he is looking and sounding great. He was looking over his son, Johns shoulder, telling him how to service a lower unit–almost back to normal, and we are certainly glad for that. We had a nice visit and catch-up session, and having known Adrian for over 20 years, he is almost back to his old, story-telling self!Gary Hollanderp.s. If I cant see it, then it didnt happen… Last edited by Gary Hollander on June 4th, 2008, 2:33 pm, edited 4 times in total.
The past three days have been cold and rainy, but the bass fishing has really picked up. We have had a lot of rain, with water rising, and debris floating, but the bass are moving shallow, and getting ready for the spawn. It takes about 2 hours (at least for me) to get a 5-fish limit, and the weights have been picking up each day (from 14lbs to just shy of 20lbs today). I have only caught one with a bloody tail, and that was a 4lb Kentucky (spotted bass) I caught yesterday. The presentation has changed a little for today, as the colder air and rain is affecting the females a little more. However, the same bait has been working for me, and it is made by Lake Fork Tackle. My buddy, Bart Almli, will know the one Im talking about, if he reads this. Since no one responds to my posts anymore, Ill keep the rest of the details for anyone who contacts me off-line… Gary Hollander
Hey Gary. My son Joe McBride is fishing a small club tournament tommorrow out of Runaway. Any help would be appreciated. You can email me or give me a phone number and I will call you. thanks Bob McBride rmcbride1@att.net
Gary…no offense but what were we suppose to say? Most of us dont know the guy…glad you are happy he is back. You read into things way to much. I am glad you are catchinem sounds like fun. Judd Lasiter
Hey Gary, Sounds like some great fishing has returned to LOZ. One of these days we need to hook up down there. Ive got a little place on the Gravois, but just cant seem to get off work much these days. I did manage to land a 7-12 down there 2 weeks ago though!
I know just the bait I wish it was working as well for me up here. Been out the past couple days, got a few fish nothing to write home about. The Smallmouth are starting to move up, the 2 that I cought yesterday were both 4lbs+. Going to need at least 3 more of them for next weeks Tourny. Wish I could be down there helping you put together those 20# sacks. Better yet, send me one up for next Saturday LOL
Bob, I sent you an email. Have your son call me anytime. BoBo, anytime you want to fish, give me a shout. Im at the 31MM, but love the Gravois Arm and Northshore, especially in the springtime. Bart, both colors are working well; must be the extraoridnary design and action they impart! Judd, I call them as I see them. Adrian has over 30 years with Mercury and 20+ selling Bass Cat Boats. If I wanted to be psychoanalysed, Id post on Dr. Phils website.
I called Lowrance, got an “RA” number assigned and sent my unit back along with a check for $212.45. The “replacement” unit arrived about two weeks later, and when I installed it on Friday, it only had 1/2 of the screen display this time. So the problem is not fixed. This is the first bad experience Ive had with Lowrance, so Ill give them the benefit of the doubt. Of course, I have to send the “replacement” unit back and start all over again… Gary Hollander
My “replacement” replacement showed up on 5/29/08. Actually it was the same unit (serial number) and they refurbed it again. Anyhow, it works great so far, and has a 1yr warranty to boot. Staying with Lowrance and lovin it… Gary Hollander
Good to hear Gary. Im hearing the fishing is incredible now. Wish I was down there. Friend of mine there Friday over 50 fish and 14 keepers. Now thats fishing.
