Bass Cat is building a lot of boats, and that is awesome. Putting in my order for an Eyra, and I need a ballpark as to when I can expect delivery? I need to sell my current boat, and I just need a rough idea how long I will be boatless…not looking for a build date…just a ballpark in how many months out? Would it be a 2020 model at this point in time?
Thanks
If you haven’t ordered it yet, most likely it will be a 2020 model. The Factory has been so busy the last three (3) years lead times have been nuts. Once building expansions are completed (60 days) we will see lead times reduce slightly and that most likely will be temporary at this pace. New models coming soon in the 219 TFX and Jaguar will increase orders as will other models to come after those.
The engine companies now can have lead times as long as 12 months and we have moved our Mercury forecasting on orders out to 16-18 months ahead.
16-18 months to receive a boat due to engine manufacturers?? That’s insane!
So the 2020 model you order will not be available till near 2021 due to engine availability?
Used boats may become a hot item.

So any estimate on how many months out if ordered today? When do the 20’s become available? Is it possible to schedule an approx. build date so it can be expected at a certain time…say like February of 2020? If it is going to be sometime out that is fine as I will hold onto what I have for the year…just trying to get a feel as if I should sell now or ?
I think that you would be fairly safe putting you order in and then stay in contact with your dealership. Mine knew when my Eyra hit the mold and it was about 6-8 weeks for delivery then (I did not have to wait on a engine). I do not think that BCB would start a build without a engine to bolt on the back. If you think your boat will sell in less than a couple of months then you could use it until then and not be without a boat for too long. It is a gamble if your boat don’t sell as soon as you would like and could end up with two boats at the house and maybe two notes until your current boat sells. Just an Idea…..
We don’t release expectation dates online or to consumers. The dealers can manage their orders and rotate a percentage of stock orders. Thus every dealership has different dates and some have already rotated all of their stock to sold, while some have not. They must have incoming product and after the next few months we hope to improve the wait times.
