Its not too bad… The one scratch is definitely going to need filling. The second chine scratch will need filling and the shears (small ships) are possibly from this or another incident perhaps. These are from a vertical hit (impact) to the bottom that hit directly on that chine corner and chipped the gelcoat upwards and sheared it. It should be filled with gelcoat or another product or the scratch will possibly develop into an issue. BCB
Thanks for the reply. One more question. I assume I can use it for 2 nine hour fishing days the next two days and repair it next week (Got a tourney Sat. and a pre-fishing day tomorrow)? The fiberglass wont absorb water that fast will it? Are there any temporary fix product you would recommend that would dry overnight tonight? Thanks again.
Oh yes! It just should not be used hard for months without attention. Use it off and on for a while and as long as yoru not pressuring it in rough water you wont have a hydraulic issue. This separates teh gel and laminate almost looking like a delamination area in many layers, though it is water jacketing on the laminate that frays it.
Ive not seen the problem area, but the first chance the boat had to dry out completely( i used a hair dryer to help) id at least put a watertight patch of gel or epoxy(marine tex quick set) to insure no further damage. Just my way,,,,,good luck, D.
