I got 2008 Sabre with 2008 150 Optimax-26 pitch Tempest Plus prop-Jack-plate is set at what factory set it at-I can only turn 5000 rpm-GPS reading saids I am only running 50 mph-By what I am reading on the board here and talking to other people that boat and motor is not performing like it should-Would any-one have any suggestions on why it is not running and performing right-Thanks for any information-John

to much prop go to a 23 or 24p tempest or a trophy plus in same p. i see 62 on 23 p temptest and 63-64 on 24 trophy j plate is about .6 abouve level with 10 14 psi water. i only use the trophy on big rough water like ky. lake ect. CotileanglerIs this your first glass ride? If so then you need more help. If not then we would get someones help. Where did this boat come from and where can we get someone some time with you. Lets see if we can start there.

no Bass cat this is my fourth glass boat-2nd bass cat-I have had this Sabre for about 2 years-just did not pay ant attention to the numbers until I seen other people speed and rpms and just notice that it was not perfoming like other peoples-John

i did have a a 23 tempest, it was good could get 59 all day long, went to a 24 fury 61, a 26 is way way to much prop for that rig

JohnIll be at Toledo Bend next weekend. I have a tournament there on Saturday. Sunday I may be back at T Bend practicing for another tournament which is on the following weekend. In between all that I will be at the Owners Tournament. Ive got some logistical things to work out over the next two weekends, but if you have time maybe I can help you out.How much weight you carrying around? 2 people or 1? Gas tanks full? Livewells full? Hows the holeshot? Has the prop ever been worked on? Does the prop have any dings?

Phil-saturday had a man in boat with me-live well empty-gas tank had less than a half tank of gas in it-boat jumps right on top of water when taking off – good hole-shot-it will only turn 5000 rpm when running wide open-50 mph on gps-prop is perfect shape-I was just thinking motor should turn harder than it is doing-to me it cannot be getting right performance at that rpm-john

John, Apparently you are finding a need for some help. Yoru about 100 miles from EK and his dealership. EK is able to help out and he would probably be glad to do so. We would help however we can. Also remove the cowling and check the throttle for full forward position at full throttle. Something does not sound right. You should be getting better performance. Most will run upper 50 to mid 60s with a 150 Opti. Some run over 65 though more are below that. BCB
