Knowing some of the resort owners in the area , I would hope that they immediately called the S/O to report the whole transaction , but who knows ??

Hmmmm……as badly as I would love a new BassCat, if somebody offered to sell me one for $2000, I would smell a rat and call police. I wonder how that went down. I would assume the thief said he needed money quick but still….$2000?? You know something is wrong with a deal like that. And you know he didnt have any paperwork on the boat. The boat was sold to a resort manager and there was no paperwork or notice. A sharp eyed staff member who was out on the look saw the rig tucked in behind some items hid away. The call came it was found and reported to MCSO (Marion County Sheriff Office) who had to drive around the horn through Baxter County (BCSO) and was supported by an investigator and deputy from BCSO soon after arrival. The intent was to strip the engine and the stories from there vary greatly between the two parties. Any further actions will have to be initiated by the MCSO and the prosecutor for Marion County, the neighboring county. It will be a long time before the one captured sees daylight. He was apprehended in Springfield, Missouri and returned to Mountain Home on extradition. The offenses in Missouri are still to be processed and he will face prosecution for felony theft and vehicle theft in Missouri also. BCB
