Divers search Beaver Lake for body of missing boater Mary Marsh Reporter8:50 PM CDT, May 10, 2009Benton County Sheriffs Officials say theyll keep searching Beaver Lake until they run out of resources. Theyre looking for 38-year-old Doug Farnsworth, a man they say was ejected when two boats crashed, Friday night. Using the Horsehoe Bend Marina as a launching base, Benton County Sheriffs Officials spent another day combing Beaver Lake, searching through the murky water to the west of the marina, looking for any sign of Farnsworth. The Benton County Dive Team and The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission say theyre search for Farnsworth is like looking for a needle in a haystack, but theyre not giving up until all resources are exhausted. They say witnesses in the boats involved and other area boaters told them Farnsworth was ejected when the boat he was riding in hit a second boat head-on. According to officials, 34-year-old Carl Shelton and 38-year-old Daniel Walden were also riding in the boats without lifejackets, and were injured. Game and Fish Sargent Rusty Johnson says Walden would have died if the fourth passenger, 14-year-old Dustin Rogers, had not pulled him from the lake. Officials add, Rogers was the only uninjured person in this accident, and was wearing a lifejacket. Now, they say theyre still searching the lake for Farnsworths body, and Game and Fish Spokesman Keith Stephens says theyre determined. “Until we can find something that tells us otherwise, were going to keep looking. And hopefully, maybe, theres a survivor.” The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission says theyre continuing this investigation by reconstructing the two boats involved in the crash, to try and figure out what went wrong. Game and Fish officials say they work about two serious boating accidents each year, and boating safety is essential. Officials say Walden is still listed in critical condition. You guys be careful………AND WEAR YOUR LIFE JACKETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
