Hey yall. I have a 2007Puma and the bow light started giving itermitten problems acouple of tris ago. It would come on some times…or not….then on again. Now it will not come on at all. Bulbs good. Onlt getting 7.0 volts at the bulb connection opn front, but I get 11.7v at the stern light ( which works fine). Ant ideas what would cause this? Battery showing 12.46v. BYW… My depth finders (Lowrance 27 and 28) will just shut off on me at any given time.?. They will work fine, then I look down and its just off. They will come right back on…. but who knows for how long. Everything else seems fine electrically. What yall think??? Thanks for any help. PS- Running 4 battery system.

Check the ground block on the transom of the boat and make sure they are all tight. Will take you about 5 minutes to check all those. Then check all your connections up front at the bow. That will take you about 15 minutes. If all is good then battery is weak and needs to be replaced. While you may be showing 12+ volts, it may not take any load at all. Lowrance units are notorious for shutting down when voltage is low. I do feel that you have some loose connections though. Good luck.

Try using the bow switch to see how much voltage you are getting at the receptacles. It will help to trace a possible issue between the wiring connections. BCB

It was a loose connection, but was NOT a BCB problem. I had a headlight put on the boat ( mounted to the trolling motor) and the guy spliced into the wires in the bow for power. One of the connections was loose just like Phil said. I should have known. Phil……YOU DA MAN!
