I recently blew my Mariner mag II and replaced the power head with a 200 EFI. I am currently running a 23 Trophy Plus and during the summer it ran 63+ GPS at 5600 RPM. Yesterday I was fishing by myself and decided to let her run. At one time I saw 66 – 67 and 6800 RPM but it began to chine walk pretty badly and would not respond to steering input to correct. When I retarded the throttle and trimmed down a little it settled down again. My question is whether weight distribution could be contributing to the problem. I carry most of my tackle in the forward storage compartment and I have a MG 101 trolling motor which I believe is somewhat heavier than the MG hand control I had previously. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks in advance for any help. Jim Whitman

Nope! Left hand to eye coordination, and by chance you didnt replace the steering with hydraulic when you swapped those powerheads did you? You will eventually get the hang of those extra ponies. It just takes time, and on an 89 model they were not hard to drive. BCB
