had a terrible rain last weekend and my rod box and the storage on the starbord side had quite a bit of water in them. the seals look fine as well as there is that lip so no water seems to be getting in there. do you think it is the locks? has anyone had this problem before i start changing parts piece by piece?

I have read on this site to cut up paper trash bags and place them in your road boxes. Then close the lids and soak them with a water hose. You can find the leak or leaks by the water on the bags.

It may take more than a water hose, check the actuator mounting also. Use a bucket to drench that deck. Year model? BCB

You might try and take some chalk and cover the top of the gasket and then close the box and lock it for a moment and then open it and see if the chalk transfers to the lid. If it transfers lightly, you might tighen your lock a little for more compression thus more chalk will transfer. Just a thought before you pour all that water……. georgeGeorge
