Hard to say? The BP 2000 was a reasonably reliable unit and it is now between 12 and 18 years of age. Plus we doubt your the original owner and that places knowledge of any repair in question. We would check for corrosion on every connection, check the terminal block and all the plug in points. Especially the grounds! After time you may have to replace with an A Ten assembly. There you will have to add some items you desire which are in the 2000 dash. Such as the Security System and who knows what else?Sorry for the issues and if you cant figure it out call Richard.

Any help would be appreciated, I was running across the water and the horn and all pumps went on and the screen on the BP 2000 was blank, I took off the lead (ground) blue wire, to the terminal block and everything shut off and made it to ramp. Put wire back on and the screen came back but it did it a secound day. short, lose wire or 2000 problem? thank you.

They are not in business and you will have to go with the retro dash ATen units. That must be a 2000 or newer model year. BCB

I swapped a friends to the A 10 last month and with directions and a phone call to Richard it worked out nice. We did have to cut a over size plate to cover gap. The A 10 was smaller. Looked as good as new when finished.

And you will have to add gas gauge that comes with it. On his cougar we mounted it in front of shifter and the only thing he lost was temp gauge and maybe trim.

BP2000 units were fairly durable and obviously with a whole bunch out there they are seldom brought up here. The ATen has thousands of units and also fairs well for the replacement unit. You do loose security system, trim, fuel, clock and the ultimate programming. Todays GPS units have filled in on clocks and trim most never used. You can add a security system to any boat with the button and drive assembly from parts.
