scotakns; B-4 you install your new shoes, seal around the whole shoe with GE Silicone sealer, Hi- temp. Also seal the holes on the backside of the metal shoe. This will prevent water from seeping in and softening the adhesive between the mating surfaces. These shoes are for cars, and are not intended for a boat trailer. I had a lot of problems with this until I sealed them…………….Good luck……………Mike
