I ran my Sabre with a Bravo 1 XS. Here are the results:Alone with 1/2 tank of gas, empty livewellsAir temp 92 degrees, water temp 85 degrees60 mph at 5300 rpm, 16 to 18 PSIAbsolutely no rooster tail4 of the 8 PVS holes were openHole shot had slight bow rise, 3 seconds to break overStern lift was very good, bow lift was incredablecould trim to just under half, seemed like too much trimHad to drive the boat, not as easy to control as the TempestDue to the Bravo being 15 1/4″ and a Tempest being 14 5/8″, should I raise the motor? I am after good hole shot and midrange and want it to be easy to drive. Not as concerned with top speed.
I’m running a 26 Bravo 1xs (2 solid plugs, 6 open) on my Sabre with 175 Pro XS. I settled on 3 5/8 PTP. It holds 18 psi at WOT. Hole shot sounds about like yours…super quick. Overall lift is great. Mine ran 68.0 last week in 95 deg heat with a full ice chest, 225 pound partner, and a little over 1/2 fuel. I don’t have a hot foot. I have a 24 & 25 Tempest, and the Bravo is easier to drive all around, I think. It’ll chine a tad if I over trim, and it starts above 3/8 on the trim gauge. It’s about (1) mph slower than my 25 Tempest…which also has great lift. On my Sabre, I start losing water pressure at WOT running it at 3.5 PTP or higher. I lose very little on top end with a partner, and I’ve got all my tackle stored upfront. Best speed I’ve seen with the Bravo was in the Spring was running solo @ 69.0 mph. It’s been running 68.5 solo with 3/4 fuel this Summer. It’s not the fastest prop, but overall it’s my favorite. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Basscathash, What pitch Bravo are you running? I am assuming you have a 150HP.

Its going to be more responsive to trim running deeper and the larger 4-blade is going to have more natural lift at the same engine height, Ill bet you can raise it and not loose water psi because you wont have to trim as much and the rpms will come up from natural slip.
My 2018 Pro XS is the last of the 2 strokes
I am running a Bravo 1 FS 25″ with all 4 holes plugged on a 17 Sabre FTD DC, Fortrex, and Yamaha 175 SHO. Its been hot since I installed the prop, but with temps in the mid 80s to mid 90s and 30 gallons of fuel, full load of gear, solo, Ive seen 69 mph at 6K RPM. In cool weather, Im sure it will do 70. The main thing with mine is that I am out of the hole in under 3 seconds, no blow out, and the mid range acceleration is unreal. I will happily give up a mile or two an hour for the mid range performance. The boat will stay up at speeds down to 20 mph. 3″ PTP, but Im still playing a little with that setting. Handling is great in all conditions, especially rough water. Prop lifts the whole boat out of the water without too much stern lift. Trim up and the boat literally flies.
I have the boat at the shop for the throttle sticking at about 3/4 throttle. Once that issue is resolved I will get back to the lake to dial it in. I dont think I was ever getting full throttle therefore my speeds being lower than I would expect. I have tried a 23P Fury, 25 Tempest and the 25P Bravo 1 XS. I really like the way the Bravo lifts the boat and hole shot is amazing.

All props by myself with 1/2 tank gas, jack plate set 3/4″ above flush. 90 degree air temp, 85 degree water temp:23P Fury5600 RPM63 MPHno bow lift (needed to lower motor due to Fury being smallest diameter)Rooster tail even with top of motor25P Tempest5500 RPM63 MPHBetter bow liftHandled very goodRooster tail even with top of motor25P Bravo 1XS4 of 8 PVS holes open, other 4 solid plugs5300 RPM60 MPHProp lifted very well, very good bow liftExcellent hole shotNo rooster tail, want to raise motor to see resultsOnly got to run the Bravo 1 time, throttle was sticking at 3/4 throttle. Will dial it in when I get the boat out of the shop.
