break in question

Merc 250 pro xsI followed the book to a T.|Kept it trimmed down and varied rpm for no moer than 2 minutes at a certain rpm. I was not able to get the max rpm the book called for with motor trimmed all the way down so I slowly bumped it up till I got there.1.5 years later my mechanic says it still looks like new. Trick is to vary rpm as much as you can.Treat your motor right during break in and it will treat you right for years to come.

Ive read in the past that if you bump up the trim during the initial 1 hour break-in it resets the motor out of break-in mode. Is this true?
