Topic: Breakaway cable pulled.Actuator stuck.

Pulled a real bone-headed move this morning.I backed the boat into the garage last night.I did not pull forward,so the actuator is fully compressed.I take off this morning and kerpow.Yep thats right bent the cable hook,pop the clip.etc…Now the actuator is stuck.I have tried the pushrod bracket release but that doesnt work.Brakes fortunately are not locked upas far i can tell.Any suggestions on getting this thing unstuck ?Thanks.

Hard one unless you figure out the bind. You hit the release under the coupler depression tab right? You may have to pull the coupler to find out why it is bound. Dont feel bad, your not the first and wont be the last.

Yes i hit the release under the coupler.The hole that you are supposed to put the prybar/screwdriver is barely accessible.I do feel bad because I just got back boat back because I lost the #3 coil and I had driven 6hrs roundtrip to get boat.Do basscat dealers do trailer work ? And unfortunately Im in northwest La. and EKs is 2 hrs away.Blank,blank.

There are a few other shops that are UFP certified to do trailer work. A lot of RV centers are certified on UFP repairs. See what center UFP has close to you through their web site. BCB

mudduck; Try releasing the bleeders on the calipers. This should releive the pressure and allow the actuator to release. You will have to rebleed the system after. Worth a try??????????? Mike

They are not stuck on dragging he says, just the return on the system for the cable.
