well after fishing half a day on the potmac river yesterday I set the hook on a 3lbsr and my carrot stix black broke rite above the first eye is this spot normal for them to break ? well from what i hear there customer sevrice is terrible and im not looking foward to it any tips from anyone thas gone threw this before
After numerous attemps to contact carrot stix because of a broke rod I talked with local gander mtn. store and manager emailed carrot stix rep directly and voiced his concern with poor customer service. A week later carrot stix rep called me and sent a new rod. Without ganders help sure I would have been S.O.L. Good luck.
I seen where Carrot Stix are made in China… No frigin wonder!!!BrianBrianHAWG Hunter2013 BassCat Eyra2013 Mercury 250 Pro XS Gen2 L/U
I had a few when they first came out and didnt care for their customer service. Switched to Kistler and have had no problems. The owner of the company even handled a rod for me after the representative I was working with left. Kistler has been a great company to work with.

However, AG has very good customer service. Unfortuantely for me I have snapped 4 Veritas Rods swinging in 2.5lb bass in the boat. Also, snapped one casting a 3/16 oz a Shakey Head jig. I think when I purchased mine in bulk AG must have had a bad run on blanks. AG generally is a good quality but Im gun shy on their rods now. B-Outlaw you are not alone.
I work a fair share of cabelas events and sport shows and have seen this countless times with carrot sticks. Have seen numerous rods break at the store when customers test the action. My advice would be to not buy the super light rods in the 100 dollar range as they will eventually break. For the same price I recommend the Shimano Compre as they have lifetime over the counter warranty and shimanos customer service is second to none.

Must be why G Loomis rods are higher being made in USA with the lifetime warranty. Kistler and Carrot Stix are both from China.”Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional illogical minority, and rapidly promoted by an unscrupulous main- stream media which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.”

I broke one on a cast with a 3/8 oz spinnerbait, had it replaced and have a few more that have yet to have an issue a year later. Their microguide series has been money for me. Im not nearly as bad as Ike, but still not nice to my gear and will be replacing all my stuff with all three Veritas series. As far as Carrot Stix, I know a couple of dealers who have dropped them because of their customer service.Last edited by SuicideNemesis on May 21st, 2012, 5:09 am, edited 1 time in total.- Chaz

I had a bunch of Powell rod and sold them because Im not a fan of cork. In hindsight I should have never sold them. I never had one issue with them after 3 years of hard fishing too.
