As far as cranking reels are concerned, the ultimate was the Lews Speed Spool. Check out ebay for Lews Speed Spools. I was surprised there are a lot of them on there. This was my favorite cranking reel- and I think I will be getting another. These reels were the smoothest reels ever!

I have a revo winch that I really like but its 5.4 to 1. Revo makes one called the toro winch, its a 4.6 to 1 I think though its a little pricey. The one I have will cast a mile it seems like.
