Bug spray on Lowrance unit ???

I took my boys fishing the other night and the bugs were pretty tough, so he sprayed some OFF on his arms and legs…..and accidently got some overspray on my new Lowrance. I didnt notice it that night, but the next morning I have a bunch of white spots on the case and the screen that I cant seem to get off? Does anyone have any suggestions for a cleaner that will work to remove these white spots? Thanks Jeff

OFF is some bad ass stuff. I hope you get the spots off and it didnt etch the spots on your graphs.

I use 75/25 mix of Distilled water/vinegar on my HDS screens. Wet a paper towel with the mixture and lay it on the screen and let it sit for a few minutes.Worth a try.

Off will damage your screens, if your lucky you can buff them back to a semi-clear state.

Same thing happend to me years ago thank god it was a older small lowrance, I had to use mineral spirits or wax and grease remover cant remember on the grey plastic case and the screen I used some windex or a different brand glass cleaner took it right off, Test on a hidden spot first, the bug spray even made my motor guide pedal white, now I dont let anyone spray anything within 50 ft of boat, just kidding but I am very cautions when sprayingLast edited by rydogggg on June 1st, 2014, 1:07 am, edited 1 time in total.

I had Off pit a watch face and sunglasses. Ive also seen it make plastic gummy

good info. didnt know off was so bad. i got spray sun screen on a HB and though that was bad.
