Bunk Board?

I need to replace the bunk boards on my trailer, is there anything special you have to do or just cut the boards to length? Also what’s the best boards to by as far as type of boards ? I have seen a bunch of different answers for this and just looking for any ideas Thanks.

You want treated 2×6’s and trim 5/8” off the side. Then you taper the front matching what you have for cosmetics. The back is chamfered at a 45 degree angle half way up, knocking about 3/4” off the top part. Then you carpet and mount.

If your bunks are original and decent shape, you can use them as patterns on the new boards.

Your two center boards will need to be pulled inward to line up with the forward mount. I used winch straps to pull them inward.

Use new hardware. Drill a starter hole for the bolts using a smaller diameter bit. I used an impact set on low to run them down.
