OK while trying to change the low level fuel warning, Which says less then 10% when i have 16 gallons remaining in center tank, i was playing with the buttons on the nexslink gauges and somehow managed to retore the defaults, and now i need to know how to 1. re calibrate the trim so full down reads zero again (both the trim gauge and the digital readout gauge show 23%) and 2. i still need to calibrate these fuel tanks, to read the right percentage. I have an option to turns the alarm feature off and that will be my next route if i cant figure out these fuel level alarms. i have played with all these buttons and found where it says to calibrate and then it does not give me any otpions to change the settings. Any help on these would be apprecitaed, there has got to be a manual with these gauges being offered somewhere.Last edited by JSLAW on October 6th, 2010, 12:56 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Jason, Great post. I hope read the follow up for my future NexSysLink endeavors on my Eyra.
Thanks Tom- Not sure exactly what i did but i got the trim to read correctly now. As for the fuel it shows five differnet senders and three of them have different percentages, the main fuel page is apparently showing close to the correct percentages for tanks right and left (shows 85% for the main tank- which is close to full in the window about 2 inches below full and 74% for the saddle tanks-which looks about right., but the low fuel alarm percentages are way off when it comes to indicating low fuel (when i have about 14-16 gallons of fuel remaining -center tank) in the tanks the alarm is indicated on the gauge as well as the red light on the fuel gauge…i turned the alarms off for now. They were set to come on when 10% fuel remained in the tanks, which should be about 3.3-4 gallons. I realy dont need an alarm to tell me my fuel level is low, its nevere racking driving at 70 mph and seeing the alarm message on your gauge.
There is a manual in your black bag of paperwork from Beede, though it is very complicated and you only need a portion of the information. The programming is not that hard as you go into the mode sections on the windows for set up and just go to the trim for programming. We have found it is simplest to just play through the system when setting the gauges up. A recent decision is to do a video on set up of those gauges to make it easier. Just a five minute post on You Tube would get it done and more. We will work to make this easier. BCB
Thanks for the reply and yes playing with the buttons is always the best way to learn things. I have checked twice for a manual in the bag and it is not there. I know this is a simple system to use and have button mashed for over 2 hours and still cant figure out how to get the low level alarms to read correctly…gotta love technology. Do the low level arrows need to be pointing up or down? I assume pointing down, though have tried both ways on a few different options such as battery voltage and block pressure and i get all kinds of alarm indications when im playing with it. So i zeroed them all out and the alarm indications have went away, so im just turning all the low level alarms off. The faults page is more of my concern as long as that stays working correctly i can live without the alarm functions, i know when i have good fuel, oil, and battery voltage levels.
Hey JSLAW I have the manuel for these gauges if you e-mail me ill try to scan the manuel pages and e-mail them to you There are only 10 pages ]Ronny
Jason,What functions do you have on your NexSysLink gauges? Can you share your preferred displays on the Tach LCD window? I guess the analog speedo needle is GPS accurate correct? Thanks again.
Tom- all the functions are realitively the same as the old smartcraft guages just a different way to acces the info and set them up. It has temp, fuel, voltage, block pressure, oil level in remote tank, oil level in engine mounted tank, hours, three trip log hour monitors, faults, and alarms as well. there a few other options but you can set them up a multiple of ways depending on which info you choose to have on your screen. I generally just show, water pressure, engine temp, and battery voltage. Yes GPS is providing the inputs for the speed on the analog speed gauge. Enigne trim analog gauge also shares via the nexlinx gauges.Ronny I would appreciate that my email is jlaw06@comcast.net
Much appreciated.
Thanks Ronny i belive i have it figured out now, it seems i transferred off the CAN bus data to the analog data on all the senders, i looks as if the A2 bus is an analog sender then the rest of the buses uses the CAN bus for the digital info. It looks like its working now, i set my alarms back up and see if they change with the proper level indications. Thanks Again for sending me the info.Jason
