Gary,I saw that pic and it needs to be shared with everyone on the BCB forum. Maybe BassCat can take your idea to another level for the rest of us. Several months ago I was sharing some ideas taken from another OEM regarding battery compartment storage trays. Gary didnt waste anytime and made the modification / project a reality for his 2012 Pantera II. Its very impressive. Do share.Tick Tock……

Here are couple pictures. I got the idea from a post Tom made a few months ago. A guy owed me a favor so he had this made this for me at his sheet metal shop. After taking careful measurements I came up with this. The compartment tray cannot fall into the battery compartment at all. It’s very light and easy to remove. Last night I added the hole for the compartment switch and a notch so the Southco latch still works. Also put a couple drain holes should water ever get in it. Today I’ll drop it off to have it powder coated with a black pebble finish. I’ll put a thin rubber mat in the bottom to finish it off.

how much clearance do you have between the metal tray and battery post?

Nice looking tray. What do you plan to store in it? Will you have to remove it everytime you charge your batteries?

I wouldnt imagine any more water that the other back two compartments. It has drain holes in the corners should it ever see water.
