Can I mount my transducer here? This is a hummunbird compact side imaging transducer on a 2015 Margay. It is currentlty just held with tape for the photo.I would normally put it on the white step but it just will not fit due to the curved surface/size. I will be using a y cable and the puck glued in the hull for the 2d sonar.Thanks,Tom

I would not expect to get a reading there at anything above idle speed and the engine tilted out of the line of signal. When I had hummingbird, I used the stainless steal bracket like comes with Lowrance because the black plastic would not work on my Classic.

I mounted my lowerance lss ducer there with a tranducer sheild spring back bracket. I have had 0 issues with the side scan . U can drill and tap only the jack plate. Never even putting a hole in the hull. Maybe RAZOR CAT will key in. He has some detailed 9nstructions in the forums.2013 PANTERA 2MERCURY 200 PRO XSMINNKOTA 80LB FORTREX25 fury

Skimmer transducers, not so much.

Will the transducer work on plane in this location? If not what is the best location? Ill be installing a Raymarine unit shortly and was wondering this myself. It seems there is a lot of conflicting info out there.

The transducer will not work on plane in this location, but then again, SI and DI doesnt work after a certain speed anyway.
