It will need to be wiped often, more often if you are a messy fisherman like me (moss/algae on lures, crawfish scent, fish blood, bugs sticking to it in the early morning dew, sand bass poop). It looks good when it is clean but it will show it when it is not. My last two boats have had white caps, I may go with a flake color next time.Steve
