Caracal Ballzout dual bow mount set up help

Was wondering if anybody has a Caracal with a dual Ballzout mount and an Ultrex? Having issue figuring out placement in that front tray. Currently have a single Ballzout and the Ultrex cable has so much slack in it when deployed that its kind of pain getting around one graph let alone the 2 I’m planning on having up front. Was also wondering which direction in the tray the rectangular base of that mount should be bolted down? Pics would be awesome!

Not a Caracal, but I think the bow setup is somewhat similar on my Classic. I recently did this, so happy to discuss further details. I mounted the rectangular base longways with the boat, more forward and more to the centerline of the boat than I expected, but I put everything on the mount and held it in place before deciding on exact base placement. Getting the nuts on the bottom of those bolts was a challenge.

Just a thought, if you have your motor pedal forward, you’ll have more real estate for cables and graphs if you move it back. Mine is all the way back.

I just moved my pedal to back position on my Caracal. Haven’t had it out yet to see if I like it. I’m used to the forward position but thought I’d give it a try.

That Classic looks like it has the same size tray as a Caracal. That set up looks good. I think I’ll try moving the pedal back. Do you have a 52″ ultrex? Think the 52 has a longer cable but not sure…probably the issue altogether.

No sir, I have a 45” Ultrex. You may be right about having more cable. The cable cover is a must for me, especially with the ethernet cable for the autopilot and live cables I’m running. I always have to kick the cable behind the graphs when I put the motor down.

I had a 52″ Ultrex in my 2020 Caracal before I switched over to a Ghost. Only 1 graph up front on a Kong mount, and every time I deployed the TM the cable impacted the Live 12 I have there, so I had to move the cable away from the graph by hand after getting the TM down, even with the cable sleeve. I would think having two graphs up there would make that cable management more of a challenge. Even with the pedal back it was an issue for me. I like having it back as it is a more natural and comfortable position while fishing for me. Ghost does a better job of cable management, imho.

Probably worth noting my graph setup is a Helix 10 and a Helix 7, so on the small side of available graphs.
