Guys,Picked up my Caracal last week and have a question, at the bow there is the normal panel Lights, Acc and trim buttons but to the left of the TM pedal there is a two postion switch? What is this for??
That switch is a main switch that gives you power to the ones you mentioned. Believe it is there to keep you from accidentally stepping on and turning on those switches.
I had the stepping on switch problems on my Sabre but not as much on the Cougar I run now, but it still happens from time to time. That said, theres a really easy fix taken from the aviation industry. Put a vertical block between and at the end of the switches. Make the user make an effort to turn those switches on or off. Problem solved.

These switch guards are an airline parts usually for toggle switches and they may have to refit the rocker switch style hats to fit that switch because aircraft generally are smaller switches.
