Caracal fuel tanks

Except for under seat storage what are the pros/cons of standard belly tanks vs two 26 gal rear tanksready to order a Caracal, just too many options I cant decide on?

Got a 2016 Caracal with standard tanks, 1 33 gallon belly tank and a 10 gallon rear tank. I went with this for a better hole shot with power poles and a smoother ride in the rough stuff. Coming out of a 14 CougarFTD with twin 26 in rear and poles the hole shot wasnt very good with the humidity here in Ohio in the summer. Love my Caracal, dont miss the under seat storage (this boat has a ton of room without it) great hole shot and she runs close to 77 mph. Havent ran far enough to burn 43 gallons of gas in one day so the lose of 9 gallons hasnt been an issue. Have heard the twin 26 tanks will hinder the hole shot some, maybe Gary (GR884) will be on to give his opinions, I know he has the 26s.

My newto me 2015 Caracal has the belly tank and one 26 gallon tank in the rear. If I was to have ordered a new boat, I would have opted for the twin 26 gallon tanks in the rear. I had them on my Cougar FTD I traded in. I miss the underseat storage a lot. Hole shot on my Cougar was fine. I do have plenty of storage on my Caracal, but I just happen to really like that underseat storage.

As Murf mentioned I have the twin 26s. I did down pitch from a 25 to a 24. I do like the under seat storage. My hole shot is good now. Best speed to date is 75.1Looking forward to the the winter temps and see of I can improve that.

I have the belly tank and a 10 in the rear with 8 blades on my 2015 Caracal. 25 pitch Fury prop.-2 plugs pulled and hole shot is ok. I believe if I was to order a new one I would go with the two 26 in the rear to gain the under seat storage. I have a ton of room in the rear bilge area for storage that I dont know what to do with…Dave.

Rear tanks 2 pp and 36v TM holeshot is OK, I would buy rear tanks again.

My 15 has belly tank and one 26 in the back. One PP blade. 36v 4 batteries. With a 25p Ive seen 72-ish. Hole shot is sluggish with wells full and a partner else is decent. Gary had mentioned to me the performance improvements he got with the 24p so I might give that a try as well. In the huge open space in bilge I have a 18 gallon rough neck plastic tub in there that holds some tools, extra oil, and my rope/anchor (just in case). Boat is awesome and has more storage space than most should ever need…problem with that is it makes me feel I need to buy more gear lol…

TAKFishing how many rpms are you getting with the 25p furry. I just bought a new 2015 with a 225 pro xs 26 gal rear 33 under seat with 24v trolling motor. I have a dual consul and have been able to get 71.5 one time but am only turning 5400 rpms. I am getting ready to add 2 poles and think I may need to drop to a 24p prop.
