Oh…….I guess I was thrown off a bit by “rear lid”. Thanks for clearing that up George.

Mo has a you tube vidio of his boat if you go to the 19:30 mark you can see the proplem with the lid he is talking about. The smallest breeze or wave would make that lid slam shut. It should be a real easy fix for bass cat to add a strut.

Its not an easy fix, though a doable thing. Items like this are one offs and they get dozens about lots of desires, wants and views. As busy as it has been since this topic popped up we doubt that time has been allowed to respond to the question for various reasons. We will forward it to those who determine these things and see what they come up with. Shocks are not as easy as you would think as a lot goes in with lids, lip designs, brackets, mounting and angles. They must come full closure and allow opening for operation. We have seen very few that just mount up and are right where they need to be.

I added shocks to the to front lids on my Cougar and it worked great. Not sure about the configuration of the Caracal or the mounting options but I will post pics later. Used a mixture of original brackets and guessed on the size of the shocks and came out perfect.If any lids needed shocks, it was those.

Mo, they generally have been very busy with several things and we dont think they have addressed this at the factory. We understand it is obviously very important to you though they have not had a meeting on this we are aware of as of this time. Your wanting to add one part to a lid on your boat and we know others would be interested, though we dont think they have targeted that fix in house. The factory position remains that they are not placing a shock on that lid, and if they change that it will be in the next meeting on changes they have. Presently the Project Coordinator, Production Manager and Purchasing are all at the annual industry trade show (IBEX) in Louisville and we dont know if this is a topic or not. Though we know it will be a few days yet before any meeting will be had in house. BCB
