Changing tail light any pointers or suggestions

As Bobcat mentioned, unplug the old light, push it along with the rubber grommet out of the fiberglass cutout on your fender.Slip the new tail light, LED or otherwise, into the rubber grommet, and wiggle, jiggle the light/grommet assembly back into the fender cutout.Lastly, make sure the rubber grommet is lipped on both sides of the fiberglass cutout by gently pushing the front and the back of the light to confirm proper seating.If the light/grommet isnt seated properly, youll be able to easily push it out with little effort. When its properly seated, it aint going nowhere!Good luck!

There should be a plug in, unless someone rigged it otherwise. I just changed out the lights on my 96 Eyra trailer and went with LEDs, and they were “plug and play” as described.We did my brothers 06 Cougar same way. Make sure you re-use the rubber gasket that the trailer came with. The one bass cat uses is slightly larger than the ones that come with replacement lights. The other thing that I have done is wrap a few layers of electrical tape around the gasket which gives it a tighter fit.

No, not by order or spec. Though the lesser brands are simply thinner than Truck Light grommets. Many of the Chinese built products are just that way and this is similar.
