Charger Problem

I have Minn Kota 330D and just replaced my batteries. I am on my second recharge and now I am getting a flashing red and green light on one of the banks.Per the owners manual:Flashing RED and GREEN lights are lit for each bank if any of the following apply: a) The battery voltage does not rise above 10.5V after 3 hours. The battery may be damaged and will not be charged.b) Charging in Bulk Mode exceeds 20 hours. The battery may be damaged and will not be chargedChecked the voltage and I am getting 12.48 volts…the other two batteries are at 13.80 volts….12.48 is low but not below 10.5 volts….is the charger going bad or did I pick up a bad battery?Thanks for you help!Elwood…..Bass Cat Proud

You checked the in line fuses and they are in tact? If so then it has probably met its demise.

Be sure your connections to the batteries are not corroded. Clean them even if they look good. Mine looked good, but were not making good contact and making my charger go nuts. After sending unit back to the factory, they said the unit was good and the terminals were not making good contact. I cleaned them and havent had any problems since. I hope this works for you…. I checked the in-line fuses and theyre OK. I cleaned all the terminals and wire connections with a new brass brush and put anti-oxidation grease on them. I had Auto Zone check both batteries and theyre OK and fully charged. In the past the green light always remained lit w/o flashing when the batteries were charged. Yesterday, after fishing, I plugged the charger in and seem to remember that both lights came on which would have indicated that they were charging. Could the charger have conked out after having charged the batteries? or could the LED be malfunctioning. Ill try again next Saturday after our club tournament and see if I need a new charger. Reverse the leads to change compatibility and then check the batteries again. Then see where your voltages are after the rotation and some use. Trust us, this often solves the issues.

And by that…do you mean for me to change the leads with another battery????? Not reverse the polarity…..I went and exchanged the battery and will give it a few trips to see if it corrects the problem. If not Ill give your suggestion a try and then look into issues with the charger.Thank you for your help!Elwood…..Bass Cat Proud

You could get a new NOCO through Amazon for less than BCBs actual cost. Somehow Amazon has a business model that makes pennies off the advertising and gives away products for less to get you there.
