Chevy/Gmc 1500 6.2L 8spd combo

Ive got the 8 speed in my 5.3 (2016 GMC Sierra Z71 SLT). I like it and its smooth. I was looking at 2018s same models and they all had the old 6 speed like my 2014 did. Asked dealer and they said there were complaints about slow shift down at highway speeds when trying to pass. Folks found it took to long to shift down and for acceleration to begin. Ive only noticed a slight hesitation and no different then the 6 speed really as best as I can remember. I like my 8. Dealer advised the believe the new 2019 models will be 8 speed again. Well know in a few months I guess.

I have it in denali xl. Stupid good.
