Classic set up

I have my first tourney this weekend. I will be loading up the boat this week I have seen post on here stating it is best to keep most of the heavy items in the rear storage as it will help with chine walking. I know this is probably going to be trial and error but if someone can give a little advice for a starting point that would be great. I was in my 05 Classic twice late last year no gear full of fuel two guys 300 lbs combined. Thanks for any input.

Try to keep the weight even side to side. Try to offset the weight of batteries, oil tank, saddle tank, and yourself if you fish alone. Keeping the heavy items in the back will help with bow lift and better WOT numbers.

I keep all my fishing gear/rods up front without issue. Anchor and bulky but not heavy items in two rear compartments. The 200 will carry the weight and doesnt seem to hurt bow lift with the Trophy Plus and shouldnt with the Fury. Id say put your gear where you want/need it. Let this hull with the 200 do the rest, its up to the task believe me. I dont get chine walk until approaching 70 and have hit 71.4 so far (in a 2 chop) with one season under my belt. You are going to enjoy your Classic and learn something new every time out. Watch for crap in the water, with the high water every ones yards along the banks gets cleared of last seasons fire wood…..Good luck with the pike tournament. Another week before I can get up there. Looks like VT F&G reeled in the dock at Larabees so you should be good to go this weekend. Knockem dead. Water is HIGH up over 100ft above sea level. Im not sure our launch at the Marina will be accessible.

Brian One of the guys called me on friday. I was looking forward to getting out there but most of the guys didnt want to fish with it snowing and wind whipping. Thanks for the heads up anyway. Soon we will be able to get out there and hammer em.

Good call. The weather this spring has been horrendous. Again today it is raining and cold. Lake level is over 101 and there is still a lot of of snow on the ground up north to melt and it continues to rain. I may end up with lake front property yet! The State dock at Larrabees actually floated away from its moorings out into the inlet. I think the spawn could be delayed which should make for some good late May/early June C & R fishing. Will be in the woods four wheeling for bass for sure this year. Rub rails going to get another work out. Look forward to meeting you. Will send a pm with cell number later so we can hook up this spring or if you ever have a problem on the water. Always good to have someone local to call in an emergency. Take care.Brian
